Version: 10 October 2026. Trader: FEROX REMOVALS AND PROPERTY MAINTENANCE LTD, trading as FEROX Removals & Property Maintenance. Registered office: 7 Popes Close, Colnbrook, Slough, SL3 0LP, United Kingdom. Company number: 17532493.
1. When these terms apply
These terms are intended for removals, packing, furniture transport, storage and agreed property maintenance services supplied by the trader identified above. They must be read with the individual written quotation and booking confirmation. If a specific written quotation conflicts with these general terms, the specifically agreed terms take precedence, except where the law requires otherwise. This website enables quote enquiries only; it does not create a binding booking.
2. Quotations and scope
Quotations are based on the information supplied, including job descriptions, property condition and location, addresses, inventory, dimensions, access, loading distance, parking, floors, lifting facilities, dates, hours, special handling, packaging and storage. Unless the quotation states otherwise, unlisted services and items are not included. Quotations should state their validity period, the agreed scope, charges including applicable tax, foreseeable surcharges and what is excluded. The trader may propose a revised price for materially inaccurate information, changes to the agreed scope or unexpected access conditions. Additional charges require the customer's agreement where required by law; no undisclosed fee is automatically payable.
3. Bookings, payment and deposits
A booking takes effect only upon written acceptance of the quoted scope and terms and satisfaction of clearly disclosed booking requirements. A deposit, if requested, and its amount, due date, refundability and allocation will be set out in the quotation. Any deposits or cancellation fees must be fair, proportionate and reflect the trader's legitimate loss or reasonably incurred costs; no automatic blanket forfeiture applies. The customer must pay undisputed sums on the dates clearly agreed in writing. Interest on overdue business-to-business invoices may be charged where lawful and expressly agreed. The trader can suspend unperformed services for serious non-payment after appropriate notice, subject to applicable law.
4. Customer preparation, parking and access
Customers must provide accurate access and inventory information; arrange lawful parking permission and access where agreed; secure keys, lifts or building permissions; identify fragile, heavy, specialist or high-value items; and ensure personal effects are appropriately packed unless packing is included. The trader may refuse unsafe handling, overloading, illegal parking, hazardous items or entry to unsafe premises. Delays or additional handling caused by undisclosed access restrictions may result in reasonable additional costs where properly explained and agreed.
5. Items not accepted without written agreement
Unless expressly accepted in writing, services exclude cash, jewellery, securities, passports, irreplaceable documents, live animals, perishable food, illegal goods, weapons, hazardous chemicals, gas bottles, flammables and other dangerous or prohibited items. Clients must disclose antiques, artworks, unusually valuable goods, pianos, safes and specialist machinery in advance. The trader may require a specialist contractor or decline carriage where reasonable.
6. Packing, dismantling and specialist work
Any packing, unpacking, disconnecting, reconnecting, dismantling, reassembly, hoisting, crating, disposal or appliance installation is included only when specifically listed in the quotation. Electrical, gas and plumbing connections must be made safe and performed by appropriately competent persons where required. The client must keep medicines, keys, documents and valuables separately and not pack dangerous items.
7. Cancellations, postponement and consumer rights
Customers should notify cancellations or postponements in writing as early as possible. Any agreed cancellation schedule must be stated before booking and be proportionate to genuine losses, costs already incurred and reasonable mitigation. For certain contracts for transport of goods on a specified date or period, the statutory 14-day cooling-off cancellation right may not apply under regulation 28(1)(h) of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. For other distance or off-premises service contracts, cancellation rights can apply, commonly for 14 days from contract formation, with statutory rules on early service performance. Rights must be assessed by the actual contract and confirmed in pre-contract information. Nothing in these terms removes a statutory cancellation right that applies.
Where the trader must cancel due to vehicle failure, safety concerns or other circumstances, it will notify the customer promptly, offer a reasonable alternative where available, and refund sums for undelivered services where legally required. The trader will not charge for services it has not supplied except where lawful agreed costs apply.
8. Storage-specific conditions
Any storage booking must identify the facility/operator, start date, access arrangements, handling and collection procedures, charging frequency, any minimum term, notice required to end storage, permitted items and the applicable liability or insurance arrangements. Storage charges may continue while goods remain in storage under the agreed contract. Any lawful rights over uncollected goods or disposal must be exercised only after the required notice and process; this website grants no automatic unrestricted sale or disposal power.
8A. Property maintenance, access and specialist work
Property maintenance quotations depend on the description, photographs voluntarily supplied, property condition, access, materials and work agreed in writing. Only the services expressly included in an accepted quotation are covered.
Unexpected damage, concealed defects or necessary additional materials may require a revised scope and cost. Any additional work or charge must be communicated and agreed before proceeding where legally required. No undisclosed fee is automatically payable.
Work involving gas, regulated electrical systems, structural alterations or other controlled activities will only be undertaken by appropriately qualified and authorised persons, where that service is separately accepted. Do not assume specialist work is included in a general maintenance quote.
Customers should provide safe access, disclose known hazards and secure any building or landlord permissions where needed. Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts statutory consumer rights, including rights relating to reasonable care and skill.
9. Reasonable care, loss and damage
The trader will perform services with reasonable care and skill as required by the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and other applicable law. It will not be liable for losses caused solely by inaccurate information, unsafe or inadequate packing undertaken by the client, inherent defects in the goods, normal wear, or events outside reasonable control, except to the extent that the trader is legally responsible. Any agreed liability limitation must be transparent, prominent, reasonable and expressly set out in the specific contract; no arbitrary cap or waiver is implied by this website. Customers should inspect delivered items where practicable and report concerns promptly with photographs and relevant details, but reporting time limits do not remove statutory rights.
Nothing excludes or restricts liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
10. Delays and circumstances beyond control
The trader will take reasonable care to meet agreed timings. Traffic, road closures, weather, legal restrictions and third-party access issues can affect arrival or completion times. Customers will be informed of material changes as reasonably practicable. Rights and remedies for unreasonable delays remain subject to law and the confirmed booking.
11. Complaints and dispute resolution
Contact the trader promptly with the booking details, complaint description and evidence so the issue can be investigated. This process does not restrict the right to raise a claim with a court, consumer authority or other appropriate body. These consumer terms are governed by the applicable law of the UK jurisdiction connected with the contract, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections.
12. Entire agreement and updates
The final contract comprises the confirmed quotation, any agreed variations and the version of these terms supplied on a durable medium before booking. The website may update these terms prospectively; changes do not automatically alter existing contracts.
Pre-launch review needed: Confirm actual legal entity/trading address, insurance and valuation clauses, realistic cancellation scale, statutory disclosures, complaint contact and storage provider agreements with a UK solicitor before publication.
